Thank You, Hitachi Energy – from Phudzu Village in Malawi

We’ve just broken ground in Phudzu, a village about an hour north of Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital.

This marks the beginning of the first of four new schools funded by Hitachi Energy in 2024 – all to be built in the coming weeks.

Parents in Phudzu are ready to help with the construction for the next 3–4 months.

Teachers are looking forward to teaching in a safe and inspiring environment.

And the children can’t wait to finally learn in solid classrooms – not under trees or in makeshift huts.

What is taken for granted by every child in Europe is still a rare privilege in rural Malawi.
